For the last 28 years, groundwater has filled the old Viscaria mine, collecting naturally occurring metals from the bedrock. Before this water can return to the surrounding streams and rivers, it must be carefully treated to ensure a clean and sustainable future for the environment around us.
This film follows its journey through Viscaria’s new water treatment plant in Kiruna, developed through a close collaboration between Finland and Sweden. It is a reflection of Viscaria’s deep commitment to protecting our shared water and the surrounding environment, showing how responsible mining and care for nature can go hand in hand.
